Fluticasone is an anti-inflammatory steroid medicine, which safely helps to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (an inflammation of the inside of the nose caused by an allergy such as hay fever). Azelastine is an antihistamine.
Dymista nasal spray is designed to be used twice a day and can prevent hay fever symptoms from taking hold when used regularly. The combination of an anti-inflammatory and an antihistamine means that it works quickly – usually within 30 minutes – but also has a longer-term preventative effect against hay fever symptoms.
